Bournemouth Pier has a long and iconic history within the community and has played a vital role in the town’s tourism. The pier is used as a symbol of identity for the town and hosts a range of events from races, carnivals, fairs, concerts to firework displays. The DVD celebrates the pier’s heritage and its prominent place with the people who use it every day.

Supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund and Bournemouth Borough Council Arts Grant, the DVD explores 150 years of living memories about Bournemouth Pier, the town’s most famous landmark. Produced by White Lantern Film, OUR PIER explores over a century of local history capturing distinctive stories for future generations.
